Stephanie N. Barclay joined Ogden & Fricks LLP as an associate in 2004. She handles real estate and business transactions and litigation. Ms. Barclay graduated from UC Davis in 1992 (B.A. Psychology). She then attended Santa Clara University School of Law, where she graduated with honors (J.D. 1996, cum laude).

Before returning to San Luis Obispo, where she grew up and attended high school, Ms. Barclay practiced law in the Bay Area for 7 years, most recently as Deputy Attorney General for the California Attorney General's Office. At the Attorney General's Office, Ms. Barclay investigated and prosecuted civil false claims cases (fraud against the government). Ms. Barclay was involved in the investigation and prosecution of City Tow, a company that contracted with the City of San Francisco to tow illegally parked and abandoned vehicles, which resulted in a settlement of $5.35 million for the city and state.

Prior to the Attorney General's Office, Ms. Barclay did civil litigation defense work as an associate at Burnham Brown in Oakland and then Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold in San Francisco. She also worked on complex business litigation cases as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto on their commercial litigation team.

Ms. Barclay is President of the Women Lawyers Association of San Luis Obispo County, past Secretary for Queens Bench (Bay Area women lawyers association), and a member of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association.
